Marlo's childhood love of fashion turned into a career in-the-making in high school after joining the Musical Theatre program, where she quickly took over the role of Head of Costuming - encompassing Designer, Coordinator, Wardrobe Manager, Cutter, and any other wardrobe roles that needed to be filled. She designed and produced many musicals and plays including The Addams Family (2016), High Window (2017), Rock of Ages (2018), and Mean Girls (2018).
After graduating high school, Marlo studied Costuming for Stage and Screen at Capilano University where she discovered her talent for Coordinating on Exit 22's 2019 production of Macbeth. After graduating university in June 2020, in the middle of a pandemic, Marlo started her career in film with her first role as a Background Costumer on Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: Reunited and It Feels So Deadly, in July 2020.
After five months of working in Vancouver, Marlo decided to leave the film industry, and segue her career into the fashion industry. Weaving between her love for costume and fashion is the belief that clothing tells a story. Since graduating the Fashion Marketing program at the Wilson School of Design, she now works as a Fashion Buyer at a local boutique, and Social Media Manager for the store and local fashion brands. In her spare time, she has found a way to combine her love for fashion history and her marketing experience, as Marketing Director, on the Board at the Society for the Museum of Original Costume (SMOC), and is a regular author of Fashion in Media articles featured in SMOC's monthly newsletter.
In the Summer of 2022 she welcomed the opportunity to return to the theatre with open arms. She has since worked as Costume Designer & Wardrobe Manager for three Ioco Players Theatre productions: Stages: Sondheim & Schwartz (2022), 12 Angry Jurors (2023), and Lullaby to Broadway (2023). She will be returning to her role with Ioco Players in their Fall production of War of the Worlds: The Panic Broadcast.
